Cape Cod Native Ben Thacher, who last performed forEventide Arts in 2007, has performed an extensive amount of solo, chamber, and orchestral music. He has been praised by critics for his “innate lyricism, technical skill, and aplomb.”  Ben was raised on Cape Cod, attended the Walnut Hill School, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in violin performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. He has continued advanced studies in chamber music at the San Francisco Conservatory.

He has studied with Itzhak Perlman and played in master classes with Yo- Yo Ma and members of the Julliard and Cleveland string quartets. Highly in demand as a teacher in the San Francisco area, he is currently a senior member of the string faculty of Medicine Hat College in Alberta, Canada, where he is also the director of the Medicine Hat “Strings Academy Program,” a professional initiative to develop highly gifted pre-college musicians. Locally, he was from 2007-2009 conductor of the Nashoba Youth Orchestra and director of its “Young Artist Chamber Music Program.”  Eventide is glad to welcome Ben back to his roots here on the Cape.

Eventide Arts, Inc. is a Cape Cod non-profit organization devoted to producing stimulating theatre for the purpose of inspiring thought and debate, and showcasing the work of local artists.
