LACE NEGLIGEES AND BLACK WALNUT CAKE: UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS AT A BED AND BREAKFAST

Where did the quaint, charming tradition of the bed-and-breakfast come from?  What does the quintessential white-frame, lace-curtained B&B stir in our psyches?  New England stands at the center of this tradition, which then spread across the country.  Carol Rizzoli, author of "The House at Royal Oak" and owner of a bed-and-breakfast inn for ten years with her husband, Hugo, discusses these and other questions in a revealing glimpse behind the scenes at a B&B.  The evening includes a reading from the book, a taste of their specialty black-walnut cake and a Q&A session. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.  This talk is free, but registration is requested.
