The Magic of Celtic Ireland: A Presentation in Words and Pictures

To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, Glenn & Cameron
Broughton will take us on a visual tour of some of Ireland’s rich heritage in
both Ulster and the Republic, using stunning slides will be combined with myths,
legends and personal anecdotes to bring the magic of Ireland alive. This magic
is recognized by people worldwide, maybe because Ireland’s name, Eire, means
Land of the Goddess Eriu. The varied landscape of lush green meadows, mountain
ranges and spectacular coastline would certainly lead you to believe that this
land is blessed. Its history goes back over five thousand years and Newgrange,
its most famous ancient sacred site, pre-dates both Stonehenge and the Pyramids
of Egypt. Throughout its often tragic history the Irish people have maintained
their love of music and endearing sense of humor. We hope you’ll join us.
