Ex-Employee Of Hyannis Chick-Fil-A Tries Armed Robbery: Police

A 20-year-old Cape Cod man attempted to rob the restaurant's drive-thru window at knifepoint, according to police.

HYANNIS, MA – A former employee of Chick-Fil-A in Hyannis attempted to rob the restaurant Thursday night, police said. A caller told police a man walked up to the drive-thru window with a knife around 9:40 p.m. and demanded money.

Workers refused to give him money and fled on foot down Rt. 132, according to police.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s with a gray sweatshirt wrapped around his head. Officers arrested 20-year-old Cole Reissner, of Sandwich, after finding him walking north on Rt. 132.

Reissner matched the suspect's description and had a folding knife and gray sweater in his backpack, according to police. He was identified as a former employee of Chick-Fil-A.

Reissner faces a charge of attempting to commit a crime to wit: armed robbery while masked. He was held at the Barnstable police station on $2,500 cash bail and taken to Barnstable District Court for his arraignment Friday.
