Firefighters Battle Flames At Mass Audubon Society In Barnstable
The Mass Audubon Society in Barnstable caught fire because of faulty electrical equipment on the first floor, fire officials said.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Fire officials battled smoke and flames at the Mass Audubon Society Building on Bone Hill Road Thursday morning.
The fire started around 10:30 a.m. from faulty electrical equipment inside a wall, Fire Chief Francis Pulsifer said.
"It started on the first floor in a confined space behind a wall," Pulsifer said. "We had physical fire in the attic, but it was knocked down quickly."

Pulsifer said everyone in the building was evacuated safely, and there were no injuries.
