Former Cape Cod Police Chief Gets Prison Time for Driving Drunk with 3-Year-Old in Car

John Lundborn, a former Truro police chief, has several OUI charges on his record.

John Lundborn, Truro’s former police chief, was sentenced this week to nine months in prison for driving drunk in Hyannis with his toddler in his vehicle.

Lundborn was found guilty of operating under the influence, child endangerment, and possessing an open container of alcohol following a trial in Barnstable District Court.

Lundborn was arrested on July 3, 2014. He was sentenced Monday, according to the Boston Herald.

He has two previous OUI charges.

In 2011, Lundborn was fired from his Truro post after he drove drunk and crashed a police cruiser. Then in 2013, he was charged with OUI in Palm Beach, Florida.
