Good Samaritan Rescues 4 People, 2 Dogs From Sinking Boat On Cape

One person aboard used a handheld flare to get the attention of a Good Samaritan and were taken aboard before their boat capsized.

CHATHAM, MA — A Good Samaritan out on their boat Saturday morning rescued four people and two dogs from a capsizing boat.

The Chatham Harbormaster received a call about the boat just before 9:15 a.m. Officials said the vessel was about 11 miles off the coast of Chatham.

A harbormaster patrol boat arrived at the scene around 9:50 a.m. and brought everyone aboard. No injuries were reported, according to the Cape and Islands Harbormasters Association. TowBoat U.S. came to the scene Saturday to deal with the capsized boat.
