House Fire Displaces 2 Hyannis Families

HYANNIS, MA — Two families were displaced after a house fire damaged their home Sunday night.

Just before 8 p.m., fire officials were called to a home in the 100th block of Beth Lane and found a fire burning on the back wall of the duplex.

Fire officials said the flames were extinguished in about five minutes, but when firefighters stripped the back wall, they found the flames also had spread into the basement.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
