Housing Assistance to Hold Info Session for New Apartment in Hyannis

Housing Assistance invites potential tenants to a virtual info session for a newly constructed apartment in Hyannis on Thursday, May 14, at 5:30 p.m. Interested tenants can register for the info session, which will be held on Zoom, at haconcapecod.org/properties/50-main-street.

The townhouse-style apartment at 50 Maon Street has two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and a full basement. It’s located in historic downtown Hyannis in a convenient location that’s walkable to restaurants, shopping, waterfront and Cape Cod Hospital. Rent is $1,780 a month; utilities are not included.

Household income eligibility is based on 65% of the Area Median Income. Minimum household income is $53,344. Maximum gross income is $62,205 (one person), $71,110 (two people), $80,015 (three people) and $88,855 (four people). Household income must be within the minimum and maximum gross allowable income limits; however, if an applicant is below the minimum but can substantiate the ability to pay the rent, they are encouraged to apply. Minimum income limit does not apply to voucher holders or applicants who can demonstrate an ability to pay the rent.

Housing Assistance is overseeing the lottery. Applications for the lottery can be found online at haconcapecod.org/lotteries. Printed copies are available at Housing Assistance’s offices in Hyannis and Orleans.

The deadline to apply is Friday, June 12, at 5 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held within 30 days of the application deadline.
