Housing Assistance to Hold Info Session for Three Apartments in Harwich

Housing Assistance invites potential tenants to a virtual info session for three apartments on Thursday, January 29, at 5:30 p.m. Interested applicants can register for the info session, which will be held on Zoom, at haconcapecod.org/properties/5bellsneck/.

The newly constructed apartments are located at 5 Bells Neck Road in Harwich. Two of the apartments have one bedroom, and one apartment has two bedrooms. Features include an electric heat pump and central air-conditioning, and laundry facilities are available.

The property is in a central location in the West Harwich Historic District and a short distance from public transportation hubs. It is also a short drive to all of life’s everyday amenities, including local grocery stores, pharmacies, medical offices, hospitals, social services agencies, and recreational areas. The apartments are in the historic West Harwich Schoolhouse, which was originally built in 1871. It was converted into seven year-round apartments in 2025.

Housing Assistance is overseeing the lottery. Rents (not including utilities) are $1,805 for the one-bedroom units and $2,145 for the two-bedroom unit. The apartments will be rented to eligible applicants whose income does not exceed 80% of Area Median Income (AMI): 1-person: $74,800; 2-persons: $85,450; 3-persons: $96,150; 4-persons: $106,800.

Applications for the lottery can be found online at haconcapecod.org/properties/5bellsneck/. Printed copies are available at Housing Assistance’s offices in Hyannis and Orleans.

The deadline to apply is Friday, February 20, at 5 p.m. The lottery drawing will be held within 30 days of the application deadline.
