Hyannis Cottage Fire Displaces 4 Residents
The American Red Cross is providing temporary shelter for four Hyannis residents after a fire on Sea Street.
HYANNIS, MA — A fire broke out at some cottage-style apartments in Hyannis Thursday afternoon, displacing four residents.
Around 1:30 p.m., fire officials were called to the 90th block of Sea Street and found smoke billowing from an apartment unit in the back of the building.
Fire officials said they initially called for mutual aid, but Hyannis firefighters canceled the call because they had the fire extinguished quickly.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was mostly contained to one apartment unit. But the fire still displaced four residents. Fire officials said the American Red Cross is providing temporary shelter for the displaced residents.
What caused the fire remains under investigation.
