Hyannis House Party Murder: Teen Indicted

Kelly Ridley, 18, of Hyannis, allegedly murdered Thomas Russell, 26, on October 22, 2016.

BARNSTABLE, MA — An 18-year-old Hyannis teenager on Wednesday was indicted for murder in the October stabbing death of a 26-year-old man at a Hyannis house party. Kelly Ridley was charged with murder and two counts of assault.

Police said on October 22, Ridley and Thomas Russell, 26, were attending a house party at 133 Beth Lane when a fight broke out. Ridley struck Russell with a metal scooter then stabbed him, police said. Ridley also stabbed another man who survived.

The Cape & Island District Attorney's office deferred the case to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office because the victim is a "close relative" of a person in the Cape office.
