Hyannis Man Stabs Man: Police

Police said Rendell Booker, 31, of Hyannis, stabbed a 51-year-old man near the bandstand at the Town Green.

HYANNIS, MA — A Hyannis man was arrested after police said he stabbed a 51-year-old man near the bandstand at the Town Green. Rendell Booker, 31, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Just before 12:45 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the scene. Police said the victim had suffered a stab wound to the back, and Booker ran away. But police said they found him within minutes at a nearby apartment complex.

The 51-year-old man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Booker was taken to Barnstable Police Department and was held on $500 bail.
