Hyannis Twin Brothers Admit To Trafficking Cyclopropy Fentanyl
Di'lon and Denzel Smith were found in possession of more than 100 grams of cyclopropyl fentanyl.
HYANNIS, MA — Twin brothers from Hyannis pleaded guilty in federal court to drug trafficking and gun charges. The twins admitted they were caught with more than 100 grams of cyclopropyl fentanyl, an analog of fentanyl often sold as a "designer drug."
Di'lon and Denzel Smith, both 29, pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession with intent to distribute cyclopropyl fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and a controlled substance analogue, and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
Between October and November 2017, the brothers admitted they conspired with others to sell drugs, including fentanyl and cyclopropyl fentanyl. The brothers used a Hyannis apartment rented by Di’lon Smith to store drugs for street-level sale.

Police searched the apartment on Nov. 29, 2017, and seized an undisclosed amount of fentanyl, more than 100 grams of cyclopropyl fentanyl, two loaded guns and additional ammo.
The drug charges carry prison sentences of up to20 years with a fine of up to $1 million. The gun charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years with a potential $250,000 fine.

The twins'sentencing is scheduled for March 9, 2022.
