Man Found Dead After Boat Capsizes Off Hyannis Coast

HYANNIS, MA — A 55-year-old man whose boat capsized off the coast of Hyannis has died, according to U.S. Coast Guard officials.

The man's 17-foot boat overturned Saturday night near Great Island, and the man was found unresponsive around 8 a.m. Sunday by a Coast Guard helicopter. He was flown to local EMS officials in Woods Hole and was pronounced dead there.

Officials have not released the man's identity.

Coast Guard officials said the victim was not wearing a life jacket when his boat turned over. Another man aboard the boat was rescued by a good Samaritan, officials said.
