Police Bust Mills Man for Heroin After Drug Run

Police arrested and charged a Marstons Mills man suspected of dealing heroin Friday night after allegedly following him on a drug run from his residence to Taunton where detectives witnessed a "hand-to-hand" drug transaction, according to police. 

The arrest report said detectives began investigating Evan Brann, 37, of 105 Route 149, Marstons Mills about a month ago. Police believed Brann was involved in dealing narcotics. They applied and were granted a search warrant. He was arrested on Friday and charged with possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute. 

Detectives began surveilling outside Brann's apartment above the Cash Market around 8:30 p.m. Friday. Police watched Brann exit the apartment and get into a car with a female. They drove together to Woodside Avenue and switched cars. From Woodside, they drove to Taunton where detectives said they watched Brann complete a drug transaction and followed him home. 

When Brann exited the car in front of his house, detectives approached him and stopped him before he entered his home.

Police searched Brann and found 4 grams of heroin, a street value of $1,000, and marijuana. Three grams of heroin were in a plastic baggie and 1 gram was inside a folded dollar bill on his person.

Brann pleaded not guilty to his drug possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute. Bail was set at $5,000.
