Preparation Begins For Cotuit Bay Entrance Channel Dredging Project
The project will consist of dredging the approach channel into Cotuit Bay, which will also improve part of the town's beach.

News release from Town of Barnstable.
Starting Monday, March 4, 2024, the County Dredge and the Town’s contractor, Dig-It Construction, will begin mobilizing equipment in preparation for the Cotuit Bay Entrance Channel Dredging Project. This project will consist of dredging the approach channel into Cotuit Bay. The dredged material will be used for beach nourishment at the eastern end of Dead Neck.
Weather pending, dredging activities are anticipated to start within the next week and will be on-going from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and potentially Sundays, if necessary. The project is scheduled to be completed by April 1.

Individuals operating vessels within the vicinity are urged to be mindful of the work and use caution while navigating the waters around the dredging operation.
