What To Do With $300,000? Barnstable Wants To Know

The town is looking for public input that will help determine how federal funds are spent.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The town is looking for public input that will help decide how it makes use of nearly $300,000 in federal funds.

A hearing Tuesday will gather comments that may ultimately shape a one-year action plan for the Community Development Block Grant, according to a town memo.

Barnstable and municipalities nationwide rely on CDBG funds each year to help provide housing, create jobs and make community improvements. The money, which comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, can pay for a wide range of activities, such as building affordable homes, renovating public facilities or promoting business growth.
