Wings Of Freedom

World War II planes arrive for a three-day stay at Barnstable Municipal Airport.

 

The Wings of Freedom Tour has come to town again. Three World War II aircraft  landed at Barnstable Municipal Airport this afternoon - a B-17, a B24 and a P-51.

During a 2pm ceremony, Airport Commissioner, and former Navy pilot, John Griffin welcomed the planes and visitors. Several World War II veterans were present.

Walking tours are available without reservation from 2pm to 5pm Wednesday, from 10am to 5pm Thursday and from 10am to noon Friday. They cost $12 for adults, $6 for children. World War II vets tour the planes at no cost. The two bombers will take anyone with $425 up, before and after the walking tours.
