Woman Charged for a Shopping Spree on Stolen Credit Cards

The day before Christmas Eve, a woman was charged with larceny after allegedly stealing her client's credit cards and using them to purchase Christmas presents, groceries and incidentals totaling $4,798.09, according to police and court documents.

Dustbusters employee Cinita Marcey, 33, was cleaning when she allegedly stole two credit cards from an envelope her client kept several unused cards in, police sources said.

After the theft was reported to Barnstable Police, Officer Catarina Parache began investigating the claim. Officer Parache was able to hone in on Marcey after confirming her identity from a Macy's surveillance video, according to the arrest report.

Charges began to appear on the stolen credit cards on December 10, 2010. By December 23, 2010, Marcey was brought in for questioning and later placed under arrest for larceny more than $250, larceny of a credit card and improper/unlawful use of a credit card more than $250, records showed.

In total, Marcey used the card at Stop&Shop, Journey's, Abercrombie & Fitch, Macy's, Victoria's Secret, Best Buy, CVS, Benny's, Christmas Tree Shop and Marshalls.
