Yarmouth Police Looking For Burglary Suspect

Police said the burglar ran away before officers arrived at a house on Regional Avenue.

YARMOUTH, MA — Yarmouth police have asked for the public's help finding a person who broke into a house Tuesday morning.

Around 3:40 a.m., police were called to Regional Avenue in South Yarmouth for a burglary in progress. The homeowner told police he heard a noise in the house and saw an unknown Black man at the bottom of the staircase.

Police said the burglar ran away before officers arrived. Officers sent a K-9 unit to search the area but did not find the burglar.

Yarmouth police asked neighbors to check their home surveillance systems for possible sightings of the suspect. Specifically, police asked resident in the following areas to check their security systems:

  • Regional Avenue
  • Dolphin Way
  • Marlin Way
  • Dogwood Road
  • Brentway Drive
  • North Main Street between Regional Avenue and Penstar Lane
