Jim Kilroy’s is known for its Danish and Swedish pieces, but people don’t often realize that the antique dealer’s other specialty is in Asian artifacts.
“I brought this back from Northern China – Hubei, I believe,” he said. “It’s strikingly simple – and yet it lends itself really well to any number of modern uses.”

One suggestion he had was to take advantage of its long, slim build by putting a large flat-screen television on top.
Kilroy describes the piece as being, “…reed edged, in single-board form with subtly curved, dovetailed joinery,” and remarked that the ancient form is a example of unsurpassed workmanship.
