Baritone Robert Barefield sings works by Daniel Pinkham at King's Chapel

Robert Barefield, baritone & Woosug Kang, organ, perform  Daniel Pinkham's Carols & Cries and Louis Vierne's Les Angélus in this week's mid-day recital at historic King's Chapel in downtown Boston.

Barefield is on the faculty of Hartt School of Music's Vocal Studies Division; he has performed as a soloist throughout the United States and in Europe, with symphonies, opera companies and summer festivals .

His operatic roles have included Don Giovanni, Danilo (The Merry Widow), Figaro in (Barber of Seville), Sid (Albert Herring), Eisenstein  (Die Fledermaus), and numerous other roles including that of Bishop Zumarraga in the premiere of James DeMar's opera Guadalupe - Our Lady of the Roses. 

Robert Barefield's wide-ranging recital repertoire encompasses  as Schubert's Winterreise and Die Schöne Müllerin, Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel, and premiere performances of works by contemporary composers including Simon Sargon, Lowell Liebermann, Robert Maggio, and David Conte.

Hailed by residents & visitors as a treasure in the midst of a bustling city, the King's Chapel Tuesday Noonhour Recitals cover classical music, jazz and more! Your $3 suggested donation goes directly to the performers. Programs begin at 12:15 pm and last about 35 minutes. King's Chapel is wheelchair accessible.
