Hingham Bank on Charles Street Now Open

After a short delay, the bank opened its doors Tuesday.

The following is adapted from a press release from Hingham Institute for Savings:

Hingham Savings has opened a new, full-service branch at 80 Charles St. The Bank’s 10th banking office will provide in-person banking to Beacon Hill and Back Bay residents six days a week.

The branch will have a 24-hour ATM, three teller and customer service stations, and a night deposit box. It will be open Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m - 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

Sharon L. Rice will be the branch manager, bringing more than 20 years of banking, relationship marketing and real estate experience to the position. Prior to joining HIFS, she worked with Center Development Corporation as Project/Sales Manager for luxury residential properties in Boston, and has also been affiliated with Boston Ballet, Bank of Boston and Citigroup, where she began her banking career in 1988.

Mark Stevens will serve as assistant branch manager; his 25 years of banking experience includes Wainwright Bank and Cambridge Savings Bank, and he is active in several community outreach programs for financial literacy, entrepreneurship and mentoring for Boston’s inner-city youth.
