Cambridge Savings Bank Brings “Get Smart About Credit” Workshop to Bedford Veterans Quarters

BEDFORD, MA – Cambridge Savings Bank (CSB) recently provided a free credit workshop to more than 20 veterans living at Bedford Veterans Quarters.  CSB participated by creating “Improving Your Credit” to explain how to work toward a favorable credit history, why this is so important and whom one can trust in this process. This workshop was part of the Banks participation in “Get Smart About Credit,” a national initiative of the American Bankers Association.

“Cambridge Savings Bank is honored to engage residents of Bedford Veterans Quarters in our ‘Get Smart About Credit’ program, which provides support and resources needed to improve or repair individual credit ratings,” said Evan Diamond, Cambridge Savings Bank Vice President and Financial Education Program Manager.

“Our veterans benefited greatly from Cambridge Savings Bank’s credit workshop, which taught them how to obtain an official credit report, manage debt and recognize scams,” said Jason Gilbert, programs manager of the Bedford Veterans Quarters. “CSB’s financial education lessons help veterans understand what it takes to lead self-sufficient lives.”

“One of the most important things I’ve learned was how to identify and prevent credit fraud,” said Dave Mitchell, a resident.
