C.E. FLOYD COMPANY, INC RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE BY ASSOCIATED BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS OF MASSACHUSETTS

       

Bedford-based company C.E. Floyd Company, Inc has been awarded an Excellence in Construction Award from the Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).      

C.E. Floyd won the Green award in the annual statewide competition in the “Commercial/Institutional/Industrial, Over $5 Million” category for their work on the Benchmark Senior Living Community in Bedford Falls, NH.  C.E. Floyd is one of only 14 contractors selected as recipients of ABC’s 2013 Excellence in Construction Awards.

“C.E. Floyd’s work represents the state-of-the-art in construction,” said ABC MA President Greg Beeman.  “They should be justifiably proud of this achievement.  Work of this caliber is helping to raise the standards of excellence throughout the construction industry.”

The company was hired to perform preconstruction and construction management services for the new assisted living community, which was built using in just 13 months. Benchmark Senior Living Community has 24 memory care units, 60 assisted living units, a theater and fitness room, and more.

The award winners were determined by an independent panel of expert judges based on execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, safety and other considerations. The judges were Mike Davis FAIA of Bergmeyer; Paul Guertin of Coler & Colantonio, Inc; George J. Khouri of George J. Khouri & Associaties; and Laura Wernick AIA of HMFH Architects.

Associated Builders and Contractors’ Massachusetts Chapter is the largest construction trade association in the Commonwealth, representing more than 400 contractors and construction-related firms.  ABC members subscribe to the merit shop philosophy that construction contracts should be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder through open and fair competition.  ABC’s MA Chapter operates the Gould Construction Institute and the Merit Apprenticeship Program (MAP) and is part of 72-chapter national federation representing more than 19,000 firms across the country.  Learn more at www.abcma.org.
