Coronavirus: Bedford Cancels Summer Solstice Festival
The festival was scheduled for June 27 but organizers are preparing for social distancing measures to be in place for several months.
BEDFORD, MA — Bedford decided to cancel the annual Summer Solstice Festival. The town made the announcement on Tuesday that the festival, scheduled for June 27, was canceled due to the coronavirus precautions.
The family-friendly event celebrated the start of summer in town and offered food, beer, games and music to the community. The town said the decision was made, not only with planning in mind, but in anticipation that the coronavirus health crisis may require focused attention on health and safety.
Festival organizers are bracing for a reality where social distancing measures are in place for several months.
