Flexibility Makes the Difference at Middlesex Community College
MCC's Spring semester starts Monday, January 23

At Middlesex Community College, flexible and affordable options jumpstart a student’s path to a career or four-year institution. Offering over 80 programs – including 20+ that can be completed almost entirely online – MCC’s Spring semester starts Monday, January 23!
“As a community college, Middlesex is in the unique position to provide students with a customizable educational experience,” said Jillian Freitas-Haley, MCC’s Assistant Dean of Admissions. “Under guidance from experts across the college, our students choose options that best fit their individual schedules and needs that will get them directly into the workforce or their transfer college or university – all while saving thousands in tuition costs.”
Flexibility is key to helping students start and finish their education at Middlesex. This includes holding in-person classes on both the Bedford and Lowell campuses. Students can also register for online courses that involve live class meetings or working independently on their own time.

A number of hybrid courses allow students to combine both face-to-face meetings with online learning. Hyflex courses are also offered for students to choose whether they want to meet online or in-person – which can be changed on a class-to-class basis.
“Another way Middlesex provides students flexibility is through accelerated classes,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “MCC offers two eight-week sessions that include the same content, academic standards, and number of instructional hours as classes during the traditional 15-week semester. During the Spring 2023 semester, students can register for Mini-mester I or II – the second starting mid-term on Monday, March 27!”

To help students better afford the costs of college, Middlesex offers assistance with scholarships, loans and grants. Financial Wellness coaching is available to teach students budget tips and complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Advisors are also available to guide students through the transfer process. In addition to helping students maximize the number of transferable credits they earn, advisors can also walk them through taking advantage of MassTransfer and MCC’s 25+ articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities.
Through the college’s new Center for Integrated Learning, MCC helps students find internship and job opportunities, network with local employers, and learn more about entering in-demand industries throughout the area.
“Not only do we have the resources to guide you to success, we also have systems in place to ensure that you can access them,” O’Neil said. “Start by connecting with the college – we’re here to help.”
