FDA Clears First Gene Therapy for Sanfilippo Syndrome Type A with Shipments to Treatment Centers Within 60 Days (medicaldaily.com) — A newly approved gene therapy for Sanfilippo syndrome type A will be manufactured in part at Ultragenyx's facility in Bedford, tying the town to a major rare-disease breakthrough. Families nationwide now face decisions about eligibility, travel to specialized centers, and insurance coverage for the one-time treatment. Bedford's role is on the production side, not direct patient care.
