• Water draw request highlights east-west divisions (lowellsun.com) — Belchertown residents will host a major state hearing Wednesday on whether the MWRA can draw 10% more water from the Quabbin Reservoir, potentially shifting more western water east. Lawmakers representing the Quabbin region are urging regulators to reject the request for now, arguing the state shouldn't approve extra withdrawals without naming which communities would benefit and how much they truly need. 
• Hundreds of Massachusetts homes left without power as Nor'easter weakens (milforddailynews.com) — Belchertown has about 370 customers still without power Monday morning as crews work to restore service after a weakening Nor'easter that brought heavy rain and strong winds. Statewide outages are dropping quickly, but residents should still watch for localized flooding and avoid driving through standing water in low-lying areas.
