Belmont Boutique to end Summer-long "Give Back" Shopping Project that Benefits Cambridge-based Day Program for Homeless Women Sunday
Shopper at Belmont's Revolve have been "giving back" all summer as proceeds from the sales of designated items are donated to On The Rise

Back-to-school shoppers looking for good deals at Revolve a consignment clothing boutique in Belmont’s Cushing Square, will also find that specific purchases through Aug. 31 will benefit On The Rise, a Cambridge-based day program for homeless women.
The summer-long shopping project, where proceeds from the sales of certain garments and accessories labeled for charity are donated to On The Rise, wraps up at the end of the month. Instead of donating unsold items to local non-profits, Revolve owner Lisa Castagno is selling them in her store and donating the proceeds to a designated charity.
“It’s my new way of giving back, of helping a specific organization with a cash donation,” said Ms Castagno who launched the project in June by dedicating a portion of the store to charity sales. The proceeds of sales from designated racks and bins; none more expensive than $20, will be donated to On The Rise.

On The Rise, located at 341 Broadway in Cambridge, offers homeless women a place to find a nutritious home-cooked meal, take a hot shower or just a safe place to spend the day. The trained staff helps the women access social services, while also advocating for them to resolve many of the issues relating to their homelessness.
Ms. Castagno will select a different beneficiary in September.
