How did Belmont vote in the General Election?

BELMONT, MA – Come on America, we can get through this. Voters march to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8, to help decide one of the most historical presidential elections in most of our lifetimes.

From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., voters hit voting booths across the country, electing not only our next commander-in-chief, but members of congress, state representatives and senators, councillors and county sheriffs in their communities.

The unofficial results are in, according to the Belmont Town Clerk's website. Here's a look at how Belmont voted in 2016:

Hillary Clinton: 70.66 percent

Donald Trump: 21.42 percent

Gary Johnson: 3.87 percent

Jill Stein: 1.64 percent

Rep. in Congress

Katherine Clark: 98.19 percent

Councillor

M.M. Petitto Devaney: 98.18 percent

Sen. in General Court

William Brownsberger: 98.32 percent

Rep. in General Court

David M. Rogers: 98.39 percent

Middlesex County Sheriff

Peter Koutoujian: 98.78 percent

Ballot Questions

Question 1 (slot licenses) lost 76.46 percent to 23.54 percent.

Question 2 (charter school expansion) lost 62.66 percent to 37.34 percent.

Question 3 (farm animals) passed 79.75 percent to 20.25 percent.

Question 4 (marijuana) passed 52.49 percent to 47.51 percent.
