Belmont Man Driver of Pickup That Collided With School Bus on I-95
Police said the driver of the Silverado remained at the scene. There were no significant injuries in the crash.

BELMONT, MA – A 29-year-old Belmont man was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that collided with a school bus carrying 22 students from Ephraim Curtis Middle School in Sudbury, causing a rollover crash on I-95 southbound Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The crash happened at 12:47 p.m., south of Route 20 in Waltham. The bus, a Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner, and a 2016 Silverado pickup truck collided, and the bus rolled over the guardrail and onto an embankment leading to a stone ledge, state police said. The bus driver, a 54-year-old Everett man, the monitor, a 54-year-old man from Mattapan, and all 22 children were outside of the bus when police arrived.
Ten of the children were transported to the hospital with minor injuries; the remaining 12, as well as the bus driver and monitor, were evaluated at the hospital as a precaution, according to police.

Eight students were taken to Boston Children's Hospital, 10 were taken to Newton-Wellesley and four were transported to St. Elizabeth's, police said. All were released Wednesday evening.
No significant injuries were reported, and the driver of the pickup remained at the scene, police said.

So far, police have not charged anyone in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
