Belmont Police Investigate Series Of Car Break-Ins

Eight residents reported their cars being broken into along one street.

BELMONT, MA — Belmont police are investigating a string of car break-ins after eight residents on one street came forward. The break-ins happened on the morning of Sept. 24 and the department used it's Facebook page to spread awareness and try to find the culprit.

Eight residents in the Butler/Bartlett Avenue area reported their cars were broken into overnight. Police said all eight of the cars were left unlocked, making it easy for the suspect to get inside. The department warned residents to always lock their cars.

The department shared surveillance footage of the man they suspect was involved, breaking into a white truck at 1 a.m. on Sept. 24. The man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans with sneakers.
