Belmont Police Want Your Old Prescription Drugs

BELMONT, MA — Cleaning out your cabinets? Make sure you put all of your old prescription medicines to the side because the Belmont police want them. The department is participating in the national Drug Take Back initiative and setting up a time to collect old and unused prescriptions from people in the community.

The purpose behind the initiative is to prevent the abuse and theft of old, unused and expired prescription drugs. Prescription drugs are highly susceptible to misuse by family and friends and can be dangerous to the environment if they're not thrown away properly.

Drugs can be dropped off at the Belmont Police Station at 40 Woodland St. on Saturday Oct. 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Old or unused prescription drugs (No liquids) can be dropped off for free with no questions asked.
