Belmont Savings Bank Presents Picture Pal Days

Bank to sponsor pictures with characters in grocery store branches once a month

Belmont Savings Bank will offer families the opportunity to take photos alongside mascots and recognizable holiday and movie characters at each grocery store branch during one Saturday per month.

The free picture events began Saturday, August 16 with Patriots mascot Pat the Patriot. Future picture pals include Batman and the Thanksgiving Turkey.

“Belmont Savings is thrilled to be providing our customers with the free opportunity to pose with pop culture and local icons,” said Bob Mahoney, Belmont Savings Bank president and CEO. “We pride ourselves in offering families from Waltham, Cambridge and Newton with both the chance to create an entertaining memory as well as begin to educate their kids about the importance of saving. It’s a win-win.”

Pat the Patriot will appear for one hour starting at 10am inside the Waltham Star Market in-store branch located at 1070 Lexington Street. From 11:30am-12:30pm, Pat will be at the Cambridge Star Market in-store branch located at 699 Mount Auburn Street, before finally taking photos inside the Newton Star Market in-store branch from 1pm-2pm, which is at 33 Austin Street.

All of the picture events will take place at the same time and locations as the August 16th event.

Parents can either take their own photos or request photos taken by the bank to be emailed or printed. Families may pick up printed photos in the branch the following week.

In addition to the photos, each child who attends the event will receive a Picture Pals passport. Kids can collect a stamp for their passport each month that they return for another photo. Collecting five stamps earns the Pals-book holder $10 to be deposited into the Belmont Savings Bank account of their choice. With 10 stamps, kids can earn $25 for their account of choice.

The following popular figures will be present at the Picture Pals events:

· September 20th: Lowell Canaligator

· October 25th: Batman

· November 22nd: Thanksgiving Turkey

Parents must complete a photo release form in order for their child’s photo to be taken.
