Belmont School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Early Release Days
Here's a look at the must-know dates for the upcoming semester.
BELMONT, MA – Record scratch, school can't be right around the corner, can it? It's still a ways away, but these things have a knack for sneaking up on you during the dog days of summer. The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Sept. 6.
The 2017-18 school calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.
Here's a list of dates to know for the fall semester:

- Aug. 29-31: New Staff report
- Sept. 6: First day for grades 1-12
- Sept. 7, 8: Half of K students each day for a half-day (schools will send notices home)
- Oct. 4: Early release day - all schools
- Oct. 9: No school - Columbus Day
- Oct. 18: Early release - middle school
- Oct. 25: Early release - elementary, middle schools
- Nov. 1: Early release - all schools
- Nov. 8: Early release - all schools
- Nov. 22: Early release - all schools
- Nov. 23, 24: Thanksgiving recess
- Dec. 6: Early release - middle school
- Dec. 13: Early release - middle school
- Dec. 25 - Jan. 1: Winter recess
