Belmont Students Win MWRA Writing Contest; Town Officials Attend Awards Ceremony
Belmont Day School Students Win First Place and Honorable Mention for Essays

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is pleased to announce that two Belmont Day School students have won MWRA’s annual writing contest.
Kendree Chen, grade 4 won First Place.
Kaeleen Chen, grade 6, won Honorable Mention.

This year, students across the MWRA service area were challenged to write essays and poems about how MWRA workers do their jobs in all kinds of weather. An awards ceremony was held on Friday, May 26 at the Deer Island Treatment Plant.
Town of Belmont Water Division Manager Michael R. Bishop and Recycling Coordinator Mary Beth Calnan attended the ceremony and congratulated the winners. State Senator Will Brownsberger and Representative David Rogers issued special citations.
