ICYMI: Belmont Man Among 9 Charged In Boston Prostitution Sting

BELMONT, MA – A Belmont man was one of nine arrested Tuesday in a prostitution sting in Boston. The Suffolk County District Attorney's office alleges the men responded to an online advertisement posted by detectives with the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit and arranged for sexual activity in exchange for money.

The men were arrested at the location where they had agreed to meet the undercover detectives.

"Human trafficking exists because sex buyers make it profitable,” Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said in a release. “Part of our strategy is making clear that there are personal, social, and legal consequences for that behavior. If you come into Suffolk County to buy sex, you aren’t just participating in an industry that thrives on exploitation – you’re risking arrest and prosecution.”

Nine of the men were arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of sex for a fee. The charge comes with a possible sentence of up to two and a half years in a house of corrections and a fine of $1,000-$5,000.

They are due back in court in July.

• Nikunk B. Patel, 26, of Revere
• Archie Foxworth, 68, of Hull
