Warrant Subcommittee Nominates Officers

Full Warrant Committee will vote on named slate in September.

Three members of the Warrant Committee selected people they will recommend as new officers when the entire group meets on Sept. 21.

At the Monday, Aug. 23 meeting, the nominating subcommittee – comprised of Patricia Brusch, Noreen Millane and Michael Libenson – proposed naming Elizabeth Allison as the new chairman, William Lynch as vice chairman and Eric Smith as secretary for the coming year.

Allison and Lynch will do an excellent job, said Millane. Brusch said she sees Smith as one who should "move right up" and the position of secretary will "groom" him for such a path in the committee.

Their recommendations do not mean the three people will necessarily have the positions, Libenson said.

Each nominee will have to express interest in holding the roles and the rest of the Warrant Committee must vote before the decision is final.

Per the dictates of the new Open Meeting Law, the nominating committee must have a chairman, post meeting agendas 48 hours before gathering and keep minutes. The group decided to elect Libenson as its chairman.
