Beverly 2023 Primary Election: Cahill, Zarella Advance In Mayor's Race
The incumbent mayor and Beverly businessman were the top two vote-getters in the preliminary vote on Tuesday.

BEVERLY, MA — Incumbent Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill and Beverly businessman Jamie Zarella will face off in the November general election after the two candidates were the leading vote-getters in Tuesday's preliminary vote.
Cahill received 2,728 votes (55.8 percent) with Zarella second at 1,760 (36.0 percent), according to unofficial results. Phil Venezia was third with 312 votes (6.4 percent).
Zarella won Ward 1, while Cahill won in Wards 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The preliminary election was to narrow the field to two for the Nov. 7 general election. No other citywide office required a preliminary election during this cycle.
Beverly held in-person early voting at Beverly City Hall that concluded on Friday.

Beverly City Clerk Lisa Kent said 551 residents cast a ballot via the six days of in-person early voting in the preliminary election.
