HCP said the units will add to the tax base of Beverly.
"Acting proactively to encourage the creation of new affordable housing, the city of Beverly voted to designate the site as a 40R district," the HCP said. "This zoning designation allows for multi-family housing to be built, while simultaneously providing for incentive payments from the State to benefit the city."
The project will include two residential buildings and The Lighthouse Center, a community building and education center meant to be the "heart" of the Anchor Point community. THe Lighthouse Center will provide on-site daycare, space for after-school programming, adult education, health programming and more.
A variety of outdoor and indoor recreational spaces are planned, including a playing field, community gardens and a playground. The units will also include on-site parking and the buildings will be solar-ready.
