Beverly Golf & Tennis Club Will Get $500,000 Overhaul

Most of the money for the project will come from a historic preservation grant.

BEVERLY, MA -- City officials plan to use $100,000 in city funding and a $400,000 Community Preservation Act historic preservation grant to for an overhaul of the clubhouse at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club. In a request for proposals released Tuesday, the city said it was looking for a project manager and an architect to "perform a complete architectural and systems analysis and prepare specification plans to guide future historic preservation of the clubhouse."

The city-owned club has ten outdoor tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course. The clubhouse, which was built in 1910, is listed on the State Register of Historic Places.
