Beverly To Host Inauguration At High School

The inauguration will be for mayor as well as new and returning members of the City Council and School Committee.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly will host its inauguration for Mayor Mike Cahill, as well as new and returning members of the City Council and School Committee, in a ceremony on Tuesday.

The event will be held at the Beverly High School Auditorium on Sohier Road at noon.

The public is invited to attend or watch on BevCam local cable on Channel 6, HD Channel 1073 and on the BevCam Youtube channel.

Cahill fended off a challenge from business owner Jamie Zarella, winning by about 2,500 votes in a race where 9,908 votes were cast, in the November election.

Julie Flowers will once again serve as City Council president as she gained the most votes of the three candidates for City Councilor At-Large.

The only other contested race on the ballot was in Ward 3 in the School Committee race between Kimberly Coelho and Geraldine Cahill where Coelho won by a 634 to 459 margin.
