Beverly Named Top Place for Job Seekers

Beverly has been named one of the best place for job seekers in the state.

NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, factored in median income, monthly homeowner costs, population growth and unemployment rate.  Beverly ended up at No. 10 on the list, behind places such as Newton, Marlborough, Melrose and Methuen. Beverly’s overall score was 67.7, versus a 79.8 for No. 1 city Newton.

A total of 76 cities and town with a population of 25,000 or greater were included in the study, which was released last week.

Top employers in the city are American Renal Associates and Beverly Hospital, according to NerdWallet, and it lauded the government for helping to develop the community by “forming special boards and commissions.” It also recognized Endicott College’s program “Keys to Degrees” which helps single parents get a college education.
