Beverly Remembers SPC Stephen Fortunato on 4th Anniversary of Death
Fortunato was 25 years old when he was killed in Afghanistan.
Sunday, Aug. 14 marks four years since Army Specialist Stephen Fortunato of Beverly died in Afghanistan.
Fortunato was killed in Afghanistan in 2008 when a roadside bomb hit the vehicle he was in, according to Boston.com. Fortunato was 25 years old.
On Saturday, Fortunato's mother, Elizabeth Crawford of Beverly, was at the Salem Waterfront Hotel with The Massachusetts Iraq and Afghanistan Fallen Heroes Memorial. The organization works to "create a permanent Memorial to our Fallen Heroes,"
