The Blues Are Coming Back To Beverly

The Cabot Street Cinema Theater will host Blues Festival 2021 with a documentary screening followed by a concert of legendary blues acts.

BEVERLY, MA — The blues are coming back to Beverly in a big way next month.

The Cabot Street Cinema Theater will host a unique Blues Festival 2021 on Nov. 6 with a documentary debut screening followed by an All-Star concert of regional blues legends.

The night begins at 6 p.m. with the Deep Blues Duo performing at the Streetside Bar.

Guests will then get to see the debut screening of filmmakers Ted Reed's documentary "The Blues Trail Revisited" at 7 p.m. and the All-Star concert to follow. The James Montgomery Band, David Hull (Joe Perry Project), Marty Richards (J. Geils Band), George McCann (Blues Brothers) and more will perform.

The documentary follows a 50-year journey including the role of the blues in the evolution of American music and the music's impact on the Civil Rights movement.

"We are incredibly excited to be hosting such a unique event that fuses together music and movies," Cabot Executive Director Casey Soward said. "The night will be a celebration of both the past and the present as the blues will be in full swing on Nov. 6th. We hope this is the first blues festival of many."

The Cabot reminds those attending that all patrons for indoor performers are required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test within the past 72 hours.

A vaccination card and a government-issued ID must be shown at the door. Photocopies or a photo of the card will be accepted as long as all information is visible.

Some artists are also requiring that those attending wear masks regardless of vaccination status. Show-specific protocols can be found here.
