Beverly, MA, May 11, 2026 - Glen Urquhart School has received a $5,000 donation from the MassMutual Foundation as part of the Foundation&rsquo;s national Community Service Award (CSA) program. GUS is one of thirty-two organizations to receive an award. The MassMutual Foundation made the donation in honor of the volunteer efforts of Greg Meahl, a trustee of the school and financial professional affiliated with Baystate Financial in Wakefield.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&ldquo;For nearly three decades, MassMutual&rsquo;s Community Service Awards program has recognized the extraordinary ways our affiliated financial professionals serve their communities,&rdquo; said Dennis Duquette, Head of Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation. &ldquo;As we celebrate MassMutual&rsquo;s 175th anniversary this year, we&rsquo;re proud to continue this legacy by supporting financial professionals like Greg, whose leadership and service have helped create lasting impact in their community.&rdquo;&nbsp;
<a href="https://www.gus.org" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Glen Urquhart School</a> (GUS) is an independent PreK&ndash;8 school located in Beverly Farms, MA. Through experiential and thematic learning, GUS cultivates curious, confident, respectful, and kind students who are prepared &ndash; and inspired &ndash; to make a difference in the world.

His longstanding commitment to service, including his previous work on the board of the Beverly YMCA, reflects that deep belief in investing in and caring for one&rsquo;s neighbors.

The Essex Harmony is a Danvers based, secular, mixed voice, chorus. Founded by the late Glenn Mairo in 2006, our repertoire has grown under Tom Carmody’s direction. Our original inspiration, the ‘Singing School’ period of Colonial America (1765 –1835), has been greatly expanded up to and including contemporary American composers. Our mission is to preserve American choral music with emphasis on the Colonial ‘Singing School’ period. Our musical selections are put into context in every performance with a brief narration.
