The new rates mean the ownwer of the average, single-family home in Beverly will pay $226 next year.

BEVERLY, MA -- City Council approved a residential property tax rate of $13.60 per $1,000 of assessed value and a commercial property tax rate of $25.41 per $1,000 of assessed value. The new rates, combined with increased property values, mean a 4.2 percent increase in tax bills for property owners in both categories. The average single-family homeowner would see a $226 increase in their tax bill to $5,646.
While the proposed tax rates would be lower than this year, rising property values mean most property owners will see an increase in their Fiscal 2019 tax rates. The value of single-family homes in Beverly rose to $427,400, up 7 percent from $398,500 a year ago.
