Fly High Over Salem This Halloween

With 70,000 people expected to converge on Salem for Halloween, you might wish you could enjoy the big day by flying over all those crowds.

Thanks to Beverly’s Perception Prime Flight School, that’s exactly what you will be able to do on Salem.

The year-old flight school at Beverly Airport has offered over 300 discovery flights over the North Shore. This Saturday, it is offering special 15-minute flights over Salem in one of its four-seater planes.

Even better, if you come in costume, you can get a 10 percent discount to the Haunted Discovery Flight Over Salem, according to Perception Prime Manager Esteban Monterosso.

“The weather looks good, so we are expecting back-to-back flights,” said Monterosso. He said the flights will run from about 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This is the first time the flight school has offered the Haunted Flights.

“We did a special on Father’s Day that was a hit,” said Monterosso. Offering the flights on Halloween only adds to the festivity of the day, he added.

In addition to getting a birds-eye view of all the Salem Halloween activity, Monterosso said the discovery flights serve as an excellent introduction to get people interested in flying, especially given the location of Beverly Airport.

“There’s the foliage this time of year, and the airport is close to the ocean, so it’s always nice with a lot to see,” Monterosso said.
